The two designers have been working closely together for the past few months to create a capsule collection of hat and coat combinations that aims to encapsulate the elegance and style in racing, paired with the raw energy that underpins the excitement of the highlight of the jump-racing year. ‘This collaboration is the perfect “British” match in terms of product, ethos, workmanship and customers—the hats and coats look beautiful together,’ enthuses Claire. ‘Our customers really want a look for Cheltenham that is elegant and stylish, yet practical and real.’what to wear cheltenham

Her partner in design is just as enamoured and inspired by the understated glamour and palpable excitement of the race meeting. ‘I love the way people dress up for the races in the UK,’ admits Katherine. ‘The atmosphere at Cheltenham is really exciting. It’s most definitely an “occasion” and style is at the very centre of it, but, because it’s in the dead of winter, there is a wonderfully brisk, almost earthy element to it.’

Claire sums up the partnership perfectly by concluding: ‘Penmayne of London and Katherine Hooker coats are the perfect marriage for the Cheltenham Festival—as they offer style, statement and warmth.’
