Early weekday risers and city-bound weekenders: there is no excuse to skip the most important meal of the day with our round-up of London's best breakfast and brunch spots.
Kick-start your Monday morning with breakfast at Hawsmoor’s City branch. The steak, cocktails and triple-cooked chips are already famous London-wide but it’s the Full English for two that keeps us coming back and, in particular, the trotter baked beans. Service is faultless and friendly, even at 7am in the morning (020-7397 8120)
Cozy up on the leather banquette or perch at the pewter bar at this ever-expanding Ivy outpost in Marylebone. The varied menu-think pancakes, shepherd’s pie and truffle parmesan chips-is well-suited to larger groups and there’s a carefully curated list of cocktails to help counter the effects of nearby Oxford Street (020-3301 0400)
After a blustery morning walk with unbeatable views across London, ramble down Primrose Hill to the Greenberry Café, where dogs are more than welcome (always a plus in our eyes). Eggs come courtesy of Clarence Court’s Burford Browns or there are waffles, porridge and daily specials to choose from. A children’s menu ensure all members of the family are well catered for. Fresh baked pastries and home made ice cream complete the meal (020-7483 3765)
Artisan bread, baked daily in house, provides a hearty base for eggs Benedict at the lakeside Pavilion Café, situated in Victoria Park. Brunch classics including: pancakes, bacon sandwiches, and a full English breakfast are all made with locally sourced ingredients. Dine in the domed pavilion or admire the fountain and pedalos from the convivial cluster of picnic tables (020-8980 0030)
You will find Thomas’s, named after Burberry’s iconic founder, in the label’s flagship Regent Street store. Sit in style (literally) and tuck into an envy inducing menu stuffed full of British classics including, our favorite, lobster and chips, before paying a quick visit to the gifting area (020-3159 1410)
